- Circa 1980, version 1 was performed as a bathroom demo, including extra outtakes. 1981 contains the first live performance found, but it is unknown what version was written first. Al started writing the song in 1979.[1]
- The second version is almost identical to part of the song Albuquerque.
- One recording of this song substitutes "Campus Donuts" for "Wendell's Donuts." Campus Donuts was an actual donut shop in San Luis Obispo which closed in the late 1990s.
