- Weird Al went to an actual business that dealt in suede, called Wilson's House of Suede and Leather, in order to do research so that his song could sound plausibly realistic. Al later admitted that he nearly got arrested for loitering on account of hanging out at the place for so long.
- This song was featured in Season 3, Episode 15 of the sitcom "The Goldbergs". Weird Al actually was that main topic of this episode, with the man himself making an appearance in it.
